WALMART

 At a time when the American economy is struggling and government at all levels is cutting spending for popular services like education, people are asking why Walmart, the largest U.S. employer, with its $3.8 billion dollars in profits last quarter, should receive any taxpayer subsidies. Walmart’s reliance on government money to build new stores—it has collected over $1.2 billion in tax breaks and economic development subsidies since the early 1980′s, about $70 million annually
